The Grand Salon

The Grand Salon, a large handsome room with dark green paneled walls has east, west and south facing windows offering spectacular views into the gardens and the expansive lawns that surround the chateau. The focal point of the spacious living room is a distinctive fireplace with a large arcing window over the mantle. The unusual chimney design is attributed to Leonardo da Vinci. The Grand Salon is appointed with a variety of interesting antique pieces including a massive hand carved table, an antique butler's desk and several needlepoint chairs. Visitors will always find a game of Chinese checkers waiting in the corner or comfortable seating among the newly refurbished leather sofa and club chairs.

Off of the Grand Salon are two tower rooms, each with its own distinctive personality. The eastern tower opens into a secret "bibliotheque" with floor-to-ceiling oak shelves filled with old leather spines. The tiny circular library has a charming marble mantle and pretty views of the petit and grand parks. The western tower with its cheerful cherry red walls has an assortment of paperbacks, magazines and games.
